WCW Birthday Event

The event is a fun cycling challenge, open to individual riders or teams. We have identified thirty locations in the Purbeck area, and assigned each a points value. Twenty two of the locations are accessible by road and eight by gravel track/bridleways, the off-road locations will have a higher points value than some of the road ones. Points are acquired by taking a selfie with the person or team at the location showing all team members. It is up to you to plan your own ride to acquire as many points as you can in the time allowed.

Start time will be 9.30 am on Sunday the 15th April 2018, with sign on and master map inspection/route planning 1 hour earlier at 8.30am, all the master map information will also be shared to the e-mail address provided on entry purchase via a google map link at the time of signing on. The cut-off finish time for returning to the shop will be 2.30pm. The person or team with the most points gained at the end of the event will be declared the winner. Depending on the number of locations your route takes you to, you could end up riding anywhere from 5 to 87 miles (but bear in mind you have a maximum 5 hours riding time).

Your £15 entry fee entitles you to hot food and a drink upon return to the shop (regardless of how many points you accrue), and if it all goes horribly wrong there will be a return to base pick-up service for mechanical problems. The event is limited to 50 participants, entries are available now in the Wareham Cycleworks shop. There will be our one year birthday party at the shop after the event from 2.30pm onwards open to everyone so feel free to hang around!
